At a certain point you say
to the woods, to the sea,
to the mountains,
the world,
Now I am ready.
Now I will stop and be wholly attentive.
You empty yourself and wait,
listening...

Brisbane Valley Social Services Annual Drama Day for the Children of Esk Shire.

For a number of years Sister Mary Brennan and her volunteers at Brisbane Valley Social Services (BVSS)
have organized a Drama Day for children of the Esk Shire. It has always proved to be a popular event with
the children and parents of the area. This year 37 children gathered in the Lyceum Hall to develop their
skills under the guidance of drama teacher, Alexandra McCallum, and her assistant, Deanna. With her
irresistible exuberance, Alexandra was able to entice even the shyest children to join in the activities.
In the late afternoon parents were entertained with a concert and were delighted to see their children
confidently take their place on the stage for their various items and receive their certificates of participation
at the end.

Drama Day is a real community event in Esk and Sister Mary Brennan, Sister Mary Ormesher and
Loma Spencer of BVSS are always grateful for the support they receive from so many. Mrs.Vicki Overland
with the help of Lana, Lisa and Sarah from Toogoolawah High School did the catering, Margaret Celland
and Angela Webb assisted with preparation of the hall while Margaret Moffat, Jan Potter, Jocelyn Cameron,
April Maxwell and Joanne Brown helped to organize the children
.
